Clinical & Professional Collaboration
At Rosewood, we collaborate routinely with other professionals on two levels: clinical and professional. At the clinical level, we work with each patient’s home-based support team—including referring physicians, therapists and other providers—to ensure seamless continuity of care. In this way we can give every patient the best opportunity for a successful recovery, in both the short and long terms. At a professional level, as leaders in the ED treatment field, and we collaborate actively with the professional community. We are passionate about the free exchange of information among professionals, so best practices can be identified, established and shared. This deeply collaborative approach is part of our DNA at Rosewood. We know the future of eating disorder treatment depends on the combined efforts of clinicians working together toward common goals—through collaboration, education and a firm belief in evidence-based treatment.
Clinical Collaboration
As a referring clinician, you know the importance of ensuring seamless care for your patients. We want you to feel confident about referring ED patients to Rosewood. A familiarity with our capabilities, facilities, programs and resources can help. You’re invited to read about our process on this website. More specifically, you’re also invited to speak with one of our clinicians to get a feel for our holistic approach and ways it can help a particular patient overcome their eating disorder. When you refer a patient to us, we’re acutely aware of the level of professional trust involved, as well as the clinical benefits of a collaborative approach. So you can expect to hear from us regularly while your patient remains in our care. We’ll be updating you about your patient’s progress as well as hearing your insights and recommendations based on your relationship with the patient. This allows us to integrate any relevant information into the care plan. As your patient’s treatment at Rosewood nears completion, you’ll also hear from our aftercare planning specialists. We’ll want to consult closely with you about ways to help the patient transition back to your care as seamlessly as possible. This level of ongoing collaborative dialog can only work to the patient’s benefit; It provides clinical continuity that can increase the patient’s confidence, resulting in the best possible long-term outcome.
Professional Collaboration
We are passionate about advancing the field of treatment for eating disorders and the co-existing medical and psychiatric disorders associated with them. At the center of this effort is a commitment to sharing information and insights with the professional community. While we hope to work with you individually to optimize a particular patient’s care, we also hope to advance the free flow of information for the overall good. We collaborate with professionals in a number of ways, including:
- Contributing findings and insights at seminars, webinars and other professional gatherings
- Providing site tours of our facilities
- Maintaining active memberships in professional organizations such as International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP); Alliance for Eating Disorder Awareness (AEDA); Eating Disorders Coalition (EDC); National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA); Binge Eating Disorder Association (BEDA); Residential Eating Disorders Consortium (REDC) and others
