Operation RecoverED Participate in ‘Extreme Park Makeover’
Rosewood alumni and clients recently helped create an ‘Extreme Park Makeover’ of Sunset Park in Wickenburg, AZ. An opportunity to serve the community, and bond with peers in an interactive, outdoor setting, this outing was sponsored by Operation RecoverED, a Rosewood alumni program. “I feel like they had fun, especially when they caught a horned toad,” comments Hershkowitz. According to city officials, these projects enhance visitors’ experience at the park. Officials also claim that the improvements provide an economic boost to the local area by helping make Sunset Park a designation for youth and amateur sports tournaments.

Operation RecoverED was started by Shannon Hershkowitz and the Alumni of Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders. The mission of Operation RecoverED is to provide alumni an opportunity to get involved and give back to the community. They do this by raising awareness about anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorders at schools and events across the United States.
