Overeating Linked to Genetic Predisposition

A recent study by the University of Copenhagen discovered that some humans might be predisposed to overeat. Researchers studied nearly 1200 pigs because of their genomic similarities to humans, and found that pigs with certain genetic variants were more likely to eat more than other pigs. The human implications allow that in the future a simple blood test may determine if an individual is genetically predisposed to overeat, and therefore determine if they are at risk for obesity, diabetes, and other diseases.
