Mark Bower, MA, LPCVice President of Operations Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders
Mark Bower, MA, LPC, is Vice President of Operations for Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders. He is responsible for operations and development of growth opportunities for Rosewood’s nationally recognized eating disorder and substance abuse treatment facilities that provide a full continuum of care.
Mark has more than 16 years of leadership experience in the eating disorders field. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Messiah College in Grantham, PA and his Master’s Degree in Human Development and Family Relations, with a focus on marital and family therapy, from the University of Connecticut. He began his career as a family therapist at a psychiatric care center for adolescents, where he offered individual, group and family therapy.
While working with teens struggling with anxiety and depression, it became apparent to him that food often was a part of their struggles. These experiences prompted him to become a therapist at a residential eating disorders treatment center. He was promoted to Director of Clinical Services, Executive Director of Facilities Management, and later, Executive Administrator.
As Executive Administrator, he oversaw daily operations of a 48-bed, 500-acre facility and a partial hospitalization program. His responsibilities included leading quality improvement initiatives, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, developing strategic plans, ensuring the center met Joint Commission accreditation standards and overseeing the provision of patient care by a staff of 150.
Mark’s other experience includes providing counseling services in private practice, and working as Director of Business Development for an acute psychiatric hospital and a residential treatment center with programs serving active duty military, veterans, adolescents and adults with severe mental health and substance use disorders.
At Rosewood, Mark strives to optimize coordination and collaboration between the inpatient, PHP, IOP, and outpatient counseling facilities in Wickenburg, AZ, Tempe, AZ, and Santa Monica, CA. He is dedicated to enhancing and building collaborative relationships between Rosewood and healthcare professionals and providers nationally, to ensure quality, evidence-based care, strong outcomes, and benefit for patients and relevant parties assisting in the recovery process.
He considers caring for patients with eating disorders and substance abuse a privilege.
