Lauren Day, MS, LPC, CEDS, LCDCClinical Director Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders
Lauren Day, MS, LPC, CEDS, LCDC, is Clinical Director of Rosewood Ranch. A Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Eating Disorders Specialist, Lauren has worked in the eating disorders field for six years. Her focus at Rosewood is working with adult and adolescent patients, including those participating in Rosewood’s Christian teen track.
Lauren received her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Texas Tech University and her master’s degree in counseling from Lubbock Christian University, where she learned to incorporate Christian principles into counseling for patients who wished to pursue a faith-based recovery. A licensed chemical dependency counselor, Lauren specializes in treating patients with eating disorders and co-occurring disorders such as alcohol or drug addiction and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Prior roles include a private practice in Texas, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams at inpatient, residential and outpatient eating disorders and substance use treatment centers. As a counselor in a residential substance abuse treatment center, she led the development of a dual disorders treatment program for those struggling with addiction and eating disorders.
Having worked in Christian ministry, Lauren is able to draw from Scripture and Biblical teachings in counseling patients who draw strength and comfort from their spirituality. She is an EMDR therapist and is completing her Ph.D. dissertation on evaluating therapist competency in treating eating disorders.
She believes that the key to helping patients achieve long-lasting recovery from eating disorders and addiction goes beyond treating the symptoms. To find true healing, patients must address the core issues that led to the development of the eating disorder or addiction.
