Donald Durham, Ph.D.

Rosewood Tempe Program Director

Dr. Donald Durham is the Program Director for Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders Tempe. A licensed psychologist, he has over 30 years of experience treating eating disorders, addiction and co-occurring conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. He has had a private practice in Arizona since 1995 and has served on the leadership team for inpatient and residential eating disorder treatment facilities.

After receiving his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, Dr. Durham – better known as “Dr. Don” by his patients – became clinical director and later vice president of clinical services of a residential eating disorders center. He has trained and supervised psychology graduate students, and led the establishment of an inpatient eating disorders unit at a hospital in Dallas.

Dr. Durham has counseled children, adolescents and adults from a variety of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. He provides individual, group, family and intergenerational family therapy. He has extensive experience in assessing and treating patients across the full diagnostic spectrum.

His other experience includes serving as a hospital staff psychologist, and conducting mental health assessments in a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility. He is an experienced conflict mediator, and a skilled and effective communicator. When not at work, he enjoys reading science fiction, spending time in the Arizona outdoors with his wife Karen, and entertaining his eight grandchildren.
