It’s a space for discovery, self-awareness, understanding and healing, where patients can draw strength to make fundamental changes in their lives. The Eating Disorder Residential Treatment Program is designed for patients who are medically stable, but still require ongoing support from staff who are available 24 hours a day. This level of care lets patients follow the same structure and schedule as those in the inpatient program, without the need for round-the clock monitoring and medical supervision. With support from their multidisciplinary care team, each resident can work at their own pace on recovery from eating disorders and the co-occurring disorders that usually contribute to them. We provide separate residential facilities for male and female adults and adolescents; the inviting, comfortable accommodations promote self-discovery, growth and healing in a safe environment with support staff available at all times.
A Healing Environment That’s Physically and Emotionally Supportive
Located on 13 majestic acres high in the Sonora desert in Wickenburg, AZ, Rosewood Ranch offers breathtaking views of the Bradshaw mountains. Our secluded, private environment provides the perfect atmosphere for treatment and healing from eating disorders. The process of growth and recovery in a residential program like Rosewood’s gives patients a chance to draw on the support from peers who are experiencing many of the same symptoms, the same emotions, fears, joys and milestones. With a supportive peer group, patients learn the value of trust and teamwork as they practice skills for identifying triggers, avoiding either-or thinking, and questioning their assumptions and behaviors. Residents come away thinking differently about their relationships with food—and other people—and capable of making healthier decisions. This important dynamic forms the bedrock for lasting friendships that transform lives.
Comprehensive Full-time Services from our Multidisciplinary Care Team
All patients in our Residential program receive comprehensive treatment and guidance from a multidisciplinary team of dedicated and caring professionals working closely together. Our licensed medical staff includes psychiatrists, physicians, masters level therapists, registered dietitians and nursing staff. Meeting several times throughout the week, the team creates, reviews and adjusts each resident’s individualized treatment plan, which is based on an initial comprehensive evaluation that includes a series of medical, psychiatric, psychological and nutrition assessments. The team provides individual and group therapy sessions, as well as a wide range of experiential therapeutic modalities chosen with and for each resident.
Mealtimes at Rosewood Ranch Form Part of the Therapy
At mealtimes, residents enjoy broad dietary flexibility, without judgment or shaming. Menus are carefully selected by our certified eating disorder Registered Dieticians and prepared by trained gourmet chefs. Patients reinforce one another’s progress as they re-learn the joys of communing with others and enjoying the positive aspects of dining together with friends. The menu includes locally grown, fresh produce, and nutritious meals that are designed to create a wholesome, engaging dining experience.
