Rosewood’s Operation RecoverED Alumni Program Works With Local Mothers To Raise Awareness

Our alumni program, Operation RecoverED, typically speaks with school age kids about the importance of self-care and the dangers of eating disorders. We were recently blessed with an opportunity to speak with a group of mothers and raise awareness. We talked about secrets, the words “I’m fine”, crazy schedules and the importance of listening to the words commonly unspoken by kids today. We make times for the things we want. It’s important and necessary that we make the time to sit down with our children, have a meal or a conversation and to listen to them. It’s hard being a kid today. They need us. These alum shared a little of their stories, describing how many of their eating disorders started around the age of 8 years old. They were validated for being hardworking moms and the importance of taking a time out and to practice self-care for themselves too.

I am so proud of the work that our alum do to make a difference in this world.
