Residential Services
Residential adolescent services are offered for boys and girls ages 12-17 struggling with eating disorders at Rosewood Ranch, the main campus location of Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders. It is located in Wickenburg, AZ on 13 beautiful acres high in the Sonora desert with breath taking views of the Bradshaw Mountains. Rosewood Ranch offers a safe and intimate setting, providing the perfect atmosphere for treatment and healing from eating disorders.
We provide comprehensive treatment offered by a group of dedicated and caring professionals who work together on all aspects of our residents’ care. Our multidisciplinary team of experts includes a psychiatrist, physician, master level adolescent therapist, addiction specialists, registered dietitians and nursing staff. Each patient is assigned their own treatment team which consists of a primary adolescent therapist, registered dietitian, nurse, medical physician and adolescent psychiatrist. The team meets several times throughout the week to create and review each residents personalized treatment plan to ensure the highest level of comprehensive care. Treatment at Rosewood Ranch is covered by many insurance plans.

Adolescents are treated separately from adult residents. Adolescent residents have separate living quarters, meeting spaces, dining hall, great room, and nurse’s station. The adolescent unit is a non-smoking facility and residents will not be allowed to smoke.
Our comprehensive array of experiential therapies are offered as part of the adolescent inpatient program. The featured physical/recreational activities are non-strenuous and supervised.
Activities may include:
On-site Equine: Develops insight and awareness through work with horses in action-based counseling approach.
Tai Chi: Promotes physical and mental health through use if mild movements and appropriate breathing techniques.
Yoga: Rosewood’s Yoga instructors focus on the calming effects of general yoga practice.
Journaling: Is the practice of keeping a diary or journal as a tool for recording personal thoughts and feelings.
Meditation: Practicing meditation can change how a person relates to the follow of emotion and thoughts in the mind.
Drumming: Is a participatory group exercise that promotes physical and mental relaxation and stress relief.
Art Therapy: Offers opportunities for artistic expression of one’s feelings or emotions.
Low Ropes Course (coming soon): These activities take place on cables and other props a few feet off the ground. Balance, mutual support, sharing control and coaching for shared success are necessary to be a successful team in these activities
Family Program
Family involvement is very important to the adolescent healing process.
Our adolescent Family Workshop is designed to address family issues and provide information on communication and the recovery process. The program incorporates educational presentations, group process and experiential activities.
In addition to our Family Workshop, the primary therapist and family therapist will be in contact with the adolescent’s parents on a regular basis. The therapists will update parents on the adolescent’s progress and schedule any family therapy session’s.
We strive to provide a safe and intimate environment where residents and families can experience renewed hope for the future. The expertise and compassion of the clinical and medical staff prepare patients, family and friends with the essential tools they need to return home with renewed clarity and confidence to live healthy and productive lives.
Academics
It is important to us that our adolescent clients do not fall behind in school while in treatment and remain on track for graduation. Each client attends our on-site school for a few hours each morning. Our school facilitator helps students learn a variety of academic subjects from our on-line curriculum. If the student chooses to participate in the on-line curriculum, they will work on a variety of coursework from the extensive core curriculum library. Students also have the option to bring current coursework from their home school.
Outpatient Services
Outpatient treatment for adolescents is offered at the Rosewood Tempe location.
Rosewood Tempe Outpatient Clinic is a general outpatient counseling and psychiatric services program that is specifically designed to meet the needs of our clients. We are here to help with a broad range of issues from depression, anxiety, trauma, behavioral problems, addictions, family or relationship conflicts, and eating disorders. The purpose of the Rosewood Intensive Outpatient program is two fold:
- To provide therapy for adults and adolescents who have an eating disorder diagnosis but do not meet the criteria for inpatient treatment.
- To provide transitional support for adults and adolescents who have completed an inpatient eating disorder treatment program.
Description of Services:
Counseling services are provided by a Licensed Counselor and include individual, group, and when indicated, family therapy. Group counseling is offered six days a week, Monday through Saturday. Individual and family counseling maybe scheduled on an "as needed" basis. Co-occurring problems such as substance abuse, post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and other related issues are also treated in conjunction with the client's eating disorder.
Adolescents are separate from adult clients. They have their own Therapist and all groups are age appropriate.
