Rosewood uses the proven 12 Step Philosophy of Self-Help as a primary support for our residents because programs such as Anorexics and Bulimics Anonymous and Eating Disorders Anonymous enjoy a high success rate and are available worldwide.

The 12 Steps are a set of guidelines for living, featuring a clear and concise framework for problem solving and coping with the stress of everyday living. Spiritual but not religious in nature, the 12 Step process is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes so that they may solve their common problems and help others recover from their addictions or self-defeating behaviors.

Family Week is an intensive 5-day program designed to make patients and their families aware of the dynamics of eating disorders.

Participants learn how family systems operate, and how eating disorders, addictions and other disorders negatively impact communications while learning to share thoughts and feelings in a non-judge- mental way. We believe that when families work together and support one another, dysfunctional patterns can be broken and inter- generational patterns arrested.

Family members are supported in making decisions on how to change these patterns into healthier means of interaction resulting in more functional relationships
